Spent some time this arvo with my boys and another dozen new and old friends at a barbie and then time in front of the big screen to watch the AFL grand final. Seeing that the mighty pies had opted out a few weeks earlier gave me a chance to dust out my old Sydney Swans cap, from my time in Sydney, and barrack hard. Unfortunately not hard enough, despite a gallant second half the Roo's boys went down by 1 point. A heart breaker, yes, but all in all agood afternooons entertainment, roll on the Ashes.
There were many highlights from the recent UNOH Surrender 06: Wild adventures with Jesus conference that I organized . Seeing many young people respond to a gutsy appeal to give your lives over to being a wild follower of Jesus during our youth night, seeing people switched on a challenged with some great teaching and arts, great late night conversations. But without a doubt THE highlight for me was spending time with Tony Campolo. Not only did I get the chance to interview him on stage for 45 minutes (kept having to pinch myself) but also was host to him on the Sunday night for a few hours. It was great spending some good time with someone who has travelled long and hard on the road, and has some battle scars to proof it, topped off a great weekend for me.
